Filter IP from Google Analytics

Looking to filter out your home or business computer from your Google Analytics traffic? First obtain your IP address using any online service such as simply doing a Google search for “What is my ip?” and they will display the address above in a search result https://slotspie.com/. This will only work if you have static address. If it’s always changing, it’s going to be difficult to manage as a filter.

An IP address will look like the following 192.164.1.2. Once you have your IP address, following these steps:

  • Go into your Google Analytics account and select the account you would like to manage.
  • Click the Admin link (appears near the upper-right of the screen)
  • Under the account section, click All Filters
  • Click New Filter

You can leave the predefined filter types checked

First option set to: Exclude

Second menu set to: Traffic from the IP addresses

Third menu option set to: The are equal to

Inter your IP address in the field below.

Select the available profile and click Add

Then click Save.
